Household Toxins and Your BullDog: What You Should Know

Household Toxins and Your BullDog:

Most people are aware of the impact that many household cleaners can have on a person. Many of the items that you use to clean your kitchen, your bathroom, your dining room table, your living room floorthey serve as inhalants for people, giving the effect of a high with deleterious effects. People know this, but what most people don't know is that household cleaners can also be toxic to your pet. Dogs are notorious for being curious and investigative, getting into any and everything they can find. They don't have two hands and ten fingers to examine everything they come across, so the only next logical step would be to use their nose and mouths to figure out what they have come across.

Read the Label

Most of the cleaners and detergents on the market that have warning labels that clearly state whether or not the item is safe for contact with pets and children. Most labels state that the item is safe for pets and children across the front, if it is especially safe for contact with them; otherwise it is best to keep it away, just for goodness' sake even though the label does not indicate such.

What's Safe and What Isn't

It is a good rule of thumb to just keep all items of such a nature as far away from your pets as possible. Child locks on cupboards are a good way to go for some of the more clever breeds who can manage to get into cupboards and drawers; dont find out that your pet has this talent the hard way. There are over 60 specific cleaning supplies that are known to be hazardous to pets, as well as children and even some adults. While many of them would be unknown to the average person, for information's' sake, here are some of the common household cleaners that you should keep away from your dogs, at all cost.
